Initiatives play a vital role in how we fulfill our mandate to provide architectural education and community outreach in the St. Lawrence Valley region. Initiatives are directly funded through SLVSA membership fees and the OAA Special Projects Funding program:

Current Initiatives

Municipal Education

A program to provide volunteers to consult and educate municipalities on the regulatory need for architectural services and how to solicit those services through the RFP process. Please contact us if you would like to participate in this initiative.

Augmented Reality

An approach to improve public engagement in the planning phase of urban developments. The intent is to improve the public consultation process by providing the public with in situ immersive spatial interaction with new developments prior to approvals and to construction. This initiative is in the design development phase thanks to the support of the OAA’s Special Project funding program and Queen’s Ingenuity Labs.
